Tia & Tamera
Tia Mowry-Hardrict has been in the public eye for over 17 years, gaining initial fame and becoming a 90’s pop culture icon in her teens by starring opposite her twin sister, Tamera, in the hit comedy “Sister Sister.” During “Sister Sister’s” successful six- year run, Tia won two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and three Kids Choice Awards for Favorite Television Actress. She was also nominated for three Young Artist Awards for Best Performance by a Young Actress, in 1995, 1996, and 1997 for her work on the show. In 1999, Tia wrapped production on the show, and decided to go to college, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the prestigious Pepperdine University in Southern California.
In 2006, Tia landed the role of “Melanie Barnett” on the hit comedy series “The Game” earning her two more NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series as well as a Teen Choice Award in 2007 in the Best Actress in a Comedy category. In addition to “The Game,” Tia and her sister, Tamera, starred in and executive produced the original Lifetime film "Double Wedding." In summer 2011, Tia and Tamera entertained audiences once again in their STYLE Network series “Tia & Tamera.” The show set record ratings for the network, being the most watched series launch in their history. “Tia & Tamera” is currently airing season two.
2012 has been a busy year for Tia, she secured her sixth NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on “The Game,” and a People’s Choice Award nomination for Favorite TV Celebreality Star. While the cameras have been rolling for “Tia and Tamera,” Tia released her debut book, “Oh Baby!: Pregnancy Tales and Advise from One Hot Mama to Another” [Penguin Books] in May, filmed a fitness DVD to be released in January 2013, and has a product line in development with her sister Tamera, set to launch in early 2013. As the reality show and business endeavors have continued to blossom for Tia, the scripted world has stayed busy as well. Tia recently filmed a supporting role in Fox Searchlight Pictures’ "Baggage Claim," and is also starring in and producing the Nick at Nite pilot “Instant Mom.”
When not acting, she spends time working with several charities including the Make A Wish Foundation, and Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and others focusing on research for children fighting cancer. Born in Germany, Tia now lives in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Cory Hardrict, and her son Cree Taylor.
Tamera Mowry-Housely has been captivating audiences for over 17 years. She gained 90’s pop culture icon status in her teens by starring opposite her twin sister, Tia, in the hit comedy “Sister Sister” which aired for a total of 6 seasons with 119 episodes in total. The series garnered Tamera such awards two NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, three Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite Television Actress as well as induction into the Kid’s Choice Awards Hall of Fame. Tia and Tamera were voted two of the most powerful women on Twitter by AOL Black Voices. Tamera is also a featured blogger for PeopleMagazine.com. Tamera's additional credits include the television movies “Something To Sing About” and “Seventeen Again.” Tamera also appeared in multiple TV series including Lifetime’s hit drama “Strong Medicine” and ABC Family’s “Roommates.” She has also lent her voice to Fox’s hit show “Family Guy” and Cartoon Network’s “The Super Hero Squad Show.” In 2005, Tamera appeared in the Disney Channel’s original movie “Twitches,” which debuted as one of the channels highest-rated movies of all time. Tamera reprised her role two years later in “Twitches Too.”
In 2010 Tamera started the production company Twilight Productions with her sister, Tia, producing and starring in the Lifetime movie, “Double Wedding.” On the big screen, Tamera co-starred in the Rob Schneider comedy “The Hot Chick.” Tamera starred opposite Teri Polo in the GMC television movie “Christmas Angel,” which aired in November 2012.
While balancing a flourishing career, Tamera graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. The elder twin sister by two minutes, She was born in Germany and raised in Southern California. Tamera married FOX News correspondent Adam Housley in May 2011. They welcomed their first child, Aden John Tanner Housley, in November 2012. Tamera and Adam have homes in Los Angeles and Napa Valley, where their family winery Century Oak is located.
